A message from the Democratic Election Team

Dear Fellow Democrats,
This is an off year election and the Democratic turnout is expected to be low. We have several great Democrats running for office this election and it will be very difficult to get them elected if the Democrats don't turn out.
History of The Democratic Club
Written by HCDC
The Democratic Club was first organized back in the early 1970’s. The Democratic Club has been around for over 30 years and is not new. The Club has been very active in past election campaigns. During the 2008 election we were not very active, as most of the members were also members and very active with the HCDEC and the Obama campaign. Now that the election is over, we have more time to devote to the club. According to the Bylaws of the Florida Democrat Party the Democratic Club is chartered by the HCDEC and that allows us to use the word "Democratic" in our title. Most of the HCDEC members are elected officials, the Democratic Club gives those and other Democrats an organization to express their political leanings and be involved in democratic activities. We invite any interested person to join us.We feel there is a need in the community for involvement on a more social basis that is outside the realm of the HCDEC. As an organization, the Democratic Club plans to increase community awareness, develop a volunteer and membership base, offer programs of interest to members and the community, get information out to the public by means of a newsletter that deals with important community issues as well as state and national issues. Work towards increasing Democratic voter turnout by registering new Democrats and encouraging all to register for the convenience of the new “Mail-In” or “Absentee” ballot system.
