The Alarm Clock

The sound you heard on January 19th was the alarm clock telling Democrats to wake up. The trembling you felt was not an aftershock from Haiti. It was Senator Kennedy rolling over in his grave. The noise you heard on January 21st was the other shoe falling in Washington, D.C.
The blame game
Even before the polls closed on Tuesday the blame game started. There was more finger pointing than in one of America’s most famous political cartoons depicting the Tea Pot Dome Scandal. Most of us,
I’m ashamed to admit - myself included, don’t remember the details of the scandal but we remember the cartoon. The two things that scare me the most are that there was certainly some substance to most of the accusations and they didn’t completely cover the debacle.

The Hernando County Democratic Club wants to bring recognition to those unsung heroes who live and work among us here in Hernando County.
In times when we read about misdeeds and crime we never hear about those who selflessly bring goodness and assistance to our community and its people.
Our request is simple, if you know of someone deserving of our Unsung Heroes Recognition Award, please provide us with their name, a contact number and a description of their service to the community.

It Is Not Over Yet

When asked my opinion of President Obama’s election my reply has been that on July 4th 1776 we declared our independence and founded the country and on November 4th 2008 we saved it. That is how significant I feel the defeat of the right wing of the Republican Party was.
The radical right has not accepted defeat. They assume that the people did not take back America. They assume that President Obama’s election is a temporary setback. They believe that while you can’t fool all of the people all of the time, you can fool enough of the people enough of the time. READ FULL ARTICLE
